2010 Student Talent Show

Ms. Henriquez and Ms. Marsh rock out on water glasses

On Tuesday, February 2nd, Beaver hosted yet another student talent show.  While past competitions had been seen as disorganized and lackluster, this year’s show flourished.  The overall focus was on musical performances, with seven overall;  however, a variety of other acts were also featured, such as a comedic dialogue by Tyler Starr ’10 and Joshua Bourdeau ’10, as well as a dance act by two freshmen: Natiah Camillo ’13 and Kianna Gousby ’13. The only teachers performing, Tiffany Marsh and Alicia Henriquez, were rewarded for their bravery with thunderous applause after their musical comedic sketch.

The audience was very enthusiastic throughout, marking another distinct improvement over past talent shows.  In the end, the musicians won out, with the top three prizes claimed by musical performers.  Jasmine Houston ’11 took third with a pitch-perfect singing performance, Joe Barnard ’11 wowed the crowd by using a loop pedal to accompany himself in a singing/guitar playing act, and Drew Buckley ’10 captured the top prize: $100 for his innovative guitar composition.  All in all, this years talent show defied expectations and proved just how talented Beaver really is.
