The Beaver Reader (or TBR) was founded in 2007 by Dan Katz and Jessica Penzias of the Class of 2008. It began as an online-only paper, but over the course of the 07/08 school year, it published two print issues. TBR prides itself on continually trying to push the limits of what a modern school newspaper can do. Last year it premiered student council election results, investigated school mysteries, hosted videos of school events, and much more.

With the graduation of the Class of ’08, Ali Cooper ’09 became Editor-in-Chief. The first major TBR event of its second year was its move from being hosted on Blogger to WordPress, which we believe will enable a cleaner, better-organized presence on the web.

In the fall of 2009, Tyler Starr ’10 became the new Editor-in-Chief of the paper. He is looking forward to a strong  year for the paper and looks to really capture the student voice in the Beaver Reader this year.

TBR welcomes submissions and suggestions from all members of the Beaver community. To get involved, contact Tyler Starr, or leave a comment below.

  1. Hi Students,
This is Ms. Dalbec from the Library. I love the blog format of your newspaper. Keep up the exceptional work.

I was wondering if anyone on your staff has done (or does) book reviews for The Beaver Reader? I am interested in setting up an area in the library for student reviewed books.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping with this project?

    Ms. Erin Dalbec
