Beaver Squash Out Battles Po’ Abbey Ravens: 4-3

TYLER STARR ’10

For their second match of the year, the Beaver squash team traveled out of state to Rhode Island to battle a strong Portsmouth Abbey team. With limited time to warm up, the team took to the courts. Neddy Beckwith ’11, playing in the fourth seed, dominated his opponent and easily won 3-0. Karan Bakshi ’12 played a solid performance and held on in the third game to take the match 3-0.

The highlight of the trip was definitely freshman Nima Olumi’s (the new number one seed) match. Playing a very even opponent, Nima had to battle back down two games to one to win the match in five games. Nima has proven over the past weeks that he is now the new face of the Beaver squash program, usurping senior Lukas Mead.

The squash team looks forward to honing its skills so they can defeat PA 7-0 in their next match.
